The Guild has faithfully recorded techniques and kata's passed down to us from direct students of the founder of Kyokushin Karate, Masutatsu Oyama (Sosai). We appreciate that other organisations will do these differently, as at one point in time, there was no "One Standard" of performing them in the Kyokushin World. This was addressed in the late 1970's & 1980's with publications and instruction from former Honbu "Uchi Deshi's" (live-in students of the home of Kyokushin). Over time, there has been some drift from these due to kata competitions, where small changes in technique or emphasis have been made for presentation purposes. We have tried to avoid this.
Lastly, the video's are to help you in your pursuit of improvement, but there is no substitute to training under expert supervision in a reputable dojo.
These video's are the property of the British Karate Guild and are for viewing only. Copying and/or downloading these video's is strictly forbidden and may result in legal action, so please do not abuse our "hospitality".
